Desta

Manager

The 'big' Desta is the baby girl of the family, and now manages the hotel. She studied nursing but prefers working in hospitality and has worked in restaurants, shops, and hotels. She recently married!

Tadios

Reservations Manager

The baby brother of Desta, Tadios studied tourism and was a tour guide for many year. He manages the online reservations. When not working, you can find him watching football (Man Utd fan!)

Mike

Reception

When not behind reception desk, Mike is studying tourism and working hard on his computer skills. He is working to save up for a new smartphone! He is also a Man Utd supporter.

Chef

'Little' Desta is our cousin and Big Chef. She learnt cooking from her mum and has worked in many restaurants in Lalibela. All our food is cooked by her in our home-style. Her favourite food is doro wot.

Sisay

Sisay is licensed to offer tours of the rock-hewn churches in and around Lalibela. He has worked as guide for more than 5 years. He enjoys hiking and running, and reads history. His favourite book is the Amharic novel Love to the Death by Adis Almayoun.

Dagim

Dagim worked as a trekking guide for 3 years but now specialises in tours of the churches in and around Lalibela. His favourite church is Bete Giyorgis. He is a football fan and supports Arsenal. He also likes music and sings Tewodros Tadesse.

Belay

By day, Belay works as a surveyor. But on weekends and evenings, he offers tours to the Saturday Market, around Lalibela Town and to a secret sunset location that he and his childhood friends found. He is a serious Arsenal supporter.

Getaye

Getaye speaks English and some French. He has worked as a guide for 6 years, including 3 years travelling all around the country. Recently he has been focused on working in Lalibela. When not working, he enjoys relaxing with friends and family. His a fan of Ethiopian coffee, but not of the English Premiere League! His favourite movie is Titanic.

Henok

Henok has worked as a guide for 4 years, 2 years as a trekking guide, and now as a specialist guide for the churches of Lalibela. He plays soccer and does cardio in his spare time. His favourite movie is The Notebook, and favourite book is The Secret. He supports Arsenal.
